Palm Beach Post July 2, 2016 A Boca Raton resident and Florida Atlantic University graduate is at the U.S. Olympic swimming trials in Nebraska this weekend trying make her Olympic dreams come true. Caroline Simmons, 25, is one of nearly 200 women who are participating in the trials, the only qualifying event for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Talisa Lanoe is honored as Sportsperson of the Year! Congratulations to Talisa Lanoe, who was recently voted as Sports Personality of the Year by the country of Kenya. In 2014 Lanoe broke 3 National Records (50, 100, 200 Backstroke) and did it TWICE! Once at Commonwealth Games and the second time at FINA World Championships in Doha. Talisa's positive, inclusive spirit and strong swimming talent have made her a perfect ambassador for Kenya's athletic community!
